Q&A

What does your typical day look like at Instrumental?

Most of my time, each day, is spent in three ways: building and maintaining data pipelines that drive key metrics for our business, performing ad hoc analysis of various data sets for myriad internal and external stakeholders, and working on the development and continuous improvement of our pricing model.

Why did you choose Instrumental?

I chose Instrumental for two reasons:

  1. Number one, the people are AMAZING. I know this is cliche, but I really don’t care–if you’re interviewing or working here, you know it for the truth!
  2. Number two, I think the potential for our business is enormous. There is such a HUGE need for our product and we have only scratched the surface of sharing it with the world–I had to get on board and be a part of that magic journey.
Tell us one thing that people may not know about you.

For much of my life, I was an athlete – I competed in combat sports (Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, and MMA) and fitness (you wouldn’t know it by looking at me now!! :p ). I even established, owned, and operated three combat sports and fitness businesses in and around my hometown over the course of about 15 years.

Since joining Instrumental, what has been your favorite memory working here?

The Instrumental Summer Olympics were so much fun!!

What is your favorite Instrumental Slack Channel and why?

Many of the #we channels are great! In particular, I really enjoy the #we-love-to-read and the #we-love-whiskey channels–mostly because I’m a nerd and love to read…whilst drinking whisk(e)y!!

What do you like most about your job?

I really enjoy the opportunity to work with various teams to answer various questions (that ad hoc piece I talked about earlier). It is so much fun to explore our data and find answers that help make our business better!
